Prague
Lying at the heart of Central Europe, Prague is the capital of the Czech Republic. The country borders Germany, Austria, Slovakia and Poland.
Prague's eventful history, fascinating sightseeing and good value entertainment make it one of the true 'must see' cities in Europe. Prague caters for visitors all year round and is a very popular City Break destination. In the winter it’s a vast white snow covered scene, while the summer is long, sunny and hot.
You can’t visit Prague and not delve a little into its fascinating history, every structure and building has some past significance. There is evidence of what life was like under communist rule all over the city, and an interesting port of call is the Museum of Communism – which bizarrely is situated between a casino and a McDonalds!
Take a half day guided tour through the city and visit the Old Town and the Astronomical Clock, Charles Bridge, Prague Castle, Wenceslas Square and the Museums.
Prague today is as cosmopolitan as any other European city, and has a huge array of shops, bars, restaurants and music and night clubs. You’re never too far from an operatic recital and it’s worth checking out when you’re in this part of the world.
